Cheesy Pizza Pockets Delight

The first time I baked these was for a movie night and the kids were so excited to help with stuffing the pockets They have been our go to ever since

Ingredients

  • Refrigerated pizza crust: This saves time and bakes up flaky and soft Look for brands with few additives
  • Pasta or marinara sauce: Adds moisture and classic pizza flavor Use your favorite jarred sauce or even homemade
  • Shredded mozzarella cheese: Melts into perfect gooeyness and stretches beautifully Freshly shredded gives the best melt
  • Pepperoni: Choose high quality for the richest taste Turkey or plant based options work too
  • Dried oregano: Provides that irresistible pizzeria aroma Opt for fresh dried oregano for best results
  • Olive oil: Helps the crust brown beautifully while adding flavor Choose extra virgin for best taste

Instructions

Preheat The Oven:
Set your oven to four hundred twenty five degrees Fahrenheit or two hundred twenty Celsius Line a baking sheet with parchment for easier cleanup and to prevent sticking
Prepare The Dough:
Unroll the pizza dough right onto the parchment or onto a lightly floured surface To divide easily use a sharp knife or pizza cutter and cut the dough into six even squares Try to make the squares similar in size for even baking
Add The Filling:
On one half of every dough square gently spoon about one tablespoon of pasta sauce keeping it closer to the center for less mess Spread evenly but leave an edge Sprinkle generously with shredded mozzarella Place two slices of pepperoni on top pressing lightly so they do not slide out
Seal The Pockets:
Fold each dough square over the filling forming a triangle Press the edges together firmly then use the tines of a fork to crimp and seal fully This step prevents sauce and cheese from leaking out during baking
Optional Garnish:
For golden tops gently brush each pocket with a little olive oil For extra flavor sprinkle a pinch of dried oregano and a bit more mozzarella over each pocket This makes a big difference in both taste and looks
Bake:
Place in the preheated oven and bake for ten to thirteen minutes Watch for the crust to puff and turn rich golden brown with some cheese bubbling through the seams
Serve:
Allow to cool for several minutes so the filling does not burn your mouth Serve warm with extra pasta sauce or even ranch dressing on the side for dipping
